The Provincial Historical Files Administration began in 1565, and it was aimed to preserve the Foundation Book of the city and the Capitulate Acts. In the year 1889, Governor Quinteros proposed the creation of the “General Files of the Province”. Its aim has been to preserve and save documentary evidences of scribes, taxes, and administrative records.
