It is an Argentinean sport since colonial times and during the whole XIX century.Pato was the most popular sport among men in horseback. Gauchos created this game and they used to play it in their farms.  In 1953, during Juan Domingo Peron presidency, it was declared the National Sport.

It is played in an ideal place to spend an afternoon. This is an excellent option to enjoy sport and nature. All the fields invite visitors to enjoy the wonderful landscapes of Tucumán.

Every year, the Pato tournament is held during The “Independence Day” in July in Tapia. Thousands of local and tourist people participate.
