This town is located around at 100 km (62 ½ miles) from the capital of Tucumán. Alpachiri is part of Chicligasta district in the southwest of the province. It is at 17 km (11 miles) to the west of Concepción on National Road Nº 65.
Alpachiri is the entrance of National Park called Los Alisos Field which was created in 1995 in order to protect a wide area which covers Las Yungas and Altos Andes eco-regions. Besides, this is the only park with national remains and Inca paths inside.
