Amaicha del Valle
Amaicha del Valle
If you are interested in delving into our ancestral culture and appreciating landscapes and starry skies that will leave you ecstatic, Amaicha is your ideal destination.

One of the must-see destinations is spending a night under the stars in Ampimpa.
Situated just over 160 kilometers from the capital and at 2.000 meters above sea level, Amaicha del Valle is one of the must-see places of the Calchaquí Valley of Tucumán, where it is possible to experience first-hand the magic of the ancestral culture, under the spirit of the Pachamama. The Museum that honors Mother Earth and the Los Amaichas Community Winery, which stands out for being the first in the country to be managed by an indigenous community, are the main attractions.
Amaicha is also famous for its nature, which can be seen in all its splendor at the Los Zazos Dam, a mirror of blue water in which the peaks of the Calchaquí Valley are reflected, and from where it is possible to reach the El Remate Waterfalls. Another gem that can be visited from this destination is the Tiu Punco Desert, which will take you directly to amazing landscapes.
Ampimpa, a window to the Universe
Near Amaicha del Valle, you can visit one of the most amazing enclaves of the Calchaquí Valley: Ampimpa, a town located 2,560 meters above sea level and framed by colorful hills and large cacti. This destination is called "The Balcony of the Valleys", since from there, you can see a privileged view of the entire Santa María Valley.
At kilometer 107, on provincial route 307, is the famous Ampimpa Astronomical Observatory, founded in 1985 to study the passage of the Halley's Comet. Because of its geography, it is possible to observe a clear sky almost permanently.
Educational activities and scientific camps are held there. It is open to the general public with complementary accommodation and gastronomic services.

The Pachamama Museum is one of the great products to visit in Amaicha del Valle.
