Get to know Tucumán in 7 days

 

Day 1: San Miguel de Tucumán and El Cadillal

 

- Tour the Historic Center of the city and visit the Historic House of Independence Museum. Remember that at night the show "Lights and Sounds of Independence" is offered and tickets are sold at the box office in the afternoon.

 

- In the afternoon, travel to El Cadillal to enjoy the Celestino Gelsi dam. The destination offers you gastronomic, cultural and sports proposals.

 

  - Water adventure: kayaking, boat riding

 

  - Land adventure: cycling, hiking

 

  - Adventure by air: chairlift, zip lining, rappelling

 

Day 2: Yerba Buena and San Javier

 

- Travel to the Garden City, Yerba Buena, known for its commercial and gastronomic offer that contrasts with its hiking proposals in a very exuberant nature.

 

- Continue climbing the winding route until you reach San Javier. You will be welcomed by the Cristo Bendicente Complex, which offers amazing panoramic views, gastronomy, shopping, active tourism, and a mapping show to end the day.

 

  - Land adventure: hiking, horseback riding, cycling, bird watching, etc.

 

  - Adventure by air: paragliding, zip lining

 

Day 3: Southern Circuit (Aconquija, Famaillá, La Cocha and Alberdi National Park)

 

- Travel along national route 38 to the National Capital of the Empanada, Famaillá. There you will be able to try these gastronomic delicacies that identify us in the country. In addition, you can visit the Historic Walk where you will have your pictures taken with the replicas of the main buildings in Argentine history.

 

- Continue along National Route 38 until you reach the Pearl of the South, Concepción City, where one of the portals to the Los Alisos National Park is located.

 

- If the weather conditions are good, another proposal is to travel to Alberdi to see the Escaba dam, where you will be able to connect with nature.

 

- If you like hiking, you can continue your trip to La Cocha to see the Los Pizarro waterfall, an ideal place to cool off on intensely hot days.

 

Day 4: Tafí del Valle and The Artisan Route

 

- Travel to the north of the province and go up Route 307 towards the Calchaquí Valley. Halfway there you will find the Monument to the Aboriginal, an ideal place to take pictures and contemplate the view.

 

- Continue climbing until you reach Tafí del Valle, which will welcome you with the imposing La Angostura dam surrounded by mountains.

 

- At the destination, you have a wide variety of proposals to make. Among them is the Artisan Route, with its workshops to delve into the ancestral customs of the valley.

 

Day 5: Amaicha and Ampimpa Astronomical Observatory

 

- Visit the Ampimpa Observatory, which will allow you to spend a magical night while you learn about the stars and our skies.

 

- Another option is to continue to Amaicha, where you can visit the Pachamama Museum, the Remate waterfalls, the Los Zazos dam and, why not? continue to the Tiu Punco desert. You'll wish the day never ended!

 

- Another must-see in Amaicha is the Wine Route, and in this destination, you can visit the first community winery in the country and the third in the world.

 

Day 6: Sacred City of Quilmes and Talapazo

 

- A must-see place in the Calchaquí Valley is the Sacred City of Quilmes, one of the most important pre-Hispanic archaeological sites in the country. Before going out to explore the site, you can visit its Interpretation Center where you will learn about this ancient town.

 

- A 20-minute drive from Quilmes along the mythical Route 40 you will arrive at Talapazo, where you will be able to do a different type of tourism: community rural tourism, which consists of an immersive experience in the daily life of the town to participate in its rituals and productive activities.

 

Day 7: San Pedro de Colalao

 

- On the last day of the itinerary, travel north along Route 9 until you reach Route 311. This way you will arrive at one of the most famous summer towns in the province, San Pedro de Colalao, where peace and tranquility are the main characters.

 

- Among its main attractions there is a replica of the Virgin of Lourdes’ Grotto, where at night you can enjoy a mapping show.

 

- The main square of the commune awaits you to explore, with its colonial facades. In the gastronomic places of the town, you can try the most delicious humitas (corn cakes) full of cheese and chili.

 

- In San Pedro, you can do active tourism activities such as hiking, cycling, and horseback riding to its viewpoints.
