The National Meteorological Service predicts high temperatures for Tucumán, so the southern destinations are preparing with their bodies of water, waterfalls, and spas so that their visitors can cool off and cope with the heat while spending a day of pure fun with family and friends. Let's see each of the options!

One of the main treasures to discover in the south of Tucumán is the Los Pizarro Waterfall, in La Cocha, the highest in the province, consisting of three natural waterfalls with impressive views. The first, easily accessible, is 80 meters high and is a wonder for those who visit it. Meanwhile, the other two are more difficult, so they are only recommended for experienced people. In any case, visiting these spaces accompanied by qualified guides or hiring active tourism providers is advisable. To get there, you must travel 10 kilometers from the city's main square and access the Los Pizarro Dam. From there, you begin a walk of almost an hour that ends in this hidden paradise. From here you can choose whether you just want to dip your feet in the crystal-clear lagoon that forms under the waterfall or, on the contrary, you want to live the full experience and enjoy the rain of the waterfall.

La Cocha also offers other waterfalls that are ideal for cooling off. Among them is Bernabé, which is accessed through rivers and streams and is of intermediate-high difficulty, since at times you have to use ropes and cross rocks and a lagoon of a certain depth. Therefore, it is recommended for people with better physical condition and more experience. Like Los Pizarro, it is advisable to visit this waterfall with qualified guides to avoid contingencies. In some cases, this service is combined with other active tourism activities such as trekking along the San Ignacio River until reaching the waterfall, where it is possible to see different types of rocks and the sedimentation process of the tributary. The Cocha Safaris provider also offers the opportunity to taste sausages made in the same town as the finishing touch to an experience full of adrenaline and adventure.

The south of Tucumán also offers the possibility of facing the heat while enjoying a day of pure relaxation in the spas of Lules and Famaillá. Just 30 minutes from San Miguel de Tucumán is the renovated Balneario La Quebrada, which recently reopened on the banks of the Lules River. The complex has three pools (two for adults, 23 meters long by 13 meters wide, and a circular one for children with a maximum depth of 30 centimeters, ideal for them to have fun under safety regulations), toilets, changing rooms, a first aid room and more than 40 grills with picnic areas to stay and have lunch on the premises.

Just past Lules, you reach the city of Famaillá, famous for its juicy empanadas and a destination to enjoy water at its Municipal Spa. The complex has gigantic pools surrounded by palm trees, barbecue areas to taste tropical juices, water slides and zip lines to fly through the air. The property also has picnic areas and grills to stay and eat and an artificial lake stocked with silverside and pacu perfect for sport fishing. A colorful fact is that the spa is filled with large-scale dinosaur replicas, so the little ones will feel like they are in an authentic Jurassic Park-style adventure movie.

As a bonus, the city of the Avenues, Aguilares, has an Olympic pool 25 meters wide by 50 meters long, ideal for those who want to practice swimming and, at the same time, cool off from the high temperatures. This is located within the municipal complex, which has another large indoor pool and bar service to stay all day.

These are the options for spending these hot days while enjoying southern Tucumán's landscapes. To get the best experience in each destination, it is advisable to hire authorized tourism providers.
