Information about the Artisan Route - Hands of the Calchaquí Valley

The Artisan Route is one of Tucumán's star products and consists of a self-guided tour that invites you to discover the essence of the Valley. The true protagonists are the artists who open the doors of their workshops to share stories and demonstrate the entire process of creating the pieces they make with their hands using techniques passed down from generation to generation.
Along the Route, you can find handicrafts made with a wide variety of raw materials: ornaments made of ceramic or carved in stone, metal jewelry, leather accessories, and clothing woven or spun with wool dyed with natural pigments.
The tour can be done by private vehicle thanks to a signage system that guides you along the route through each workshop, or by hiring an agency, as the distances between some workshops are long and the roads are cobbled and winding. If you wish to visit nearby workshops on foot, it is advisable to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. At the Information Offices, you can find brochures with addresses, phone numbers, and opening hours for each artisan.
Purchases can be made in cash or through virtual payment systems. ATMs are available in the tourist village for cash withdrawals.
