In the Yungas, some of the most impressive temples and religious monuments stand out, nestled in scenic landscapes. Notable examples include the Sacred Heart Church, a charming neo-Gothic chapel that contrasts with the greenery of Villa Nougués; the Cristo Rey Monastery, built by Benedictine monks in El Siambón, where silence prevails and artisanal products are available for purchase; and the Blessing Christ, a 28-meter-tall statue created by artist Juan Carlos Iramain that crowns San Javier Hill and is now featured in a nightly mapping show.
