Faith Route in the Valle Calchaquí
Faith Route in the Valle Calchaquí
Religion plays a vital role when visiting cities and countries worldwide, with faith serving as the main motivation. Tucumán is no different, and in each of its tourist routes, you can find sites and temples of significant religious, historical, and cultural importance.
The Calchaquí Valley of Tucumán also features some of the most interesting sites for religious tourism, such as the Jesuit Museum of La Banda, a ranch built by the Jesuits in 1718 that now offers an immersive sensory exhibition, and the Chapel of the Virgin of Covadonga in El Mollar, constructed with local materials. The San Ramón Nonato Church in Amaicha del Valle, meanwhile, has a distinctive colonial style with roofs of cardón wood and carob beams that protect its single nave.
