Los Menhires open-air Archaeological Museum
Los Menhires open-air Archaeological Museum

Framed by valleys and gorges, the Menhirs are a classic choice for visitors to El Mollar. Around 50 stones stand in the reserve, up to three meters high and more than 2,000 years old.
For the indigenous peoples who lived in the valley, the menhirs were seen as monuments dedicated to fertility worship. Many show human or animal faces, especially cats. The museum is across from El Mollar's main square, making it easy to reach by car or bus from San Miguel de Tucumán.
