La Banda Jesuit Museum
La Banda Jesuit Museum

The museum is situated in an old estancia in Tafí del Valle, built by the Jesuits in 1718. Today, the space provides a fully immersive experience that enhances the senses. Upon entering, you can explore different areas of the estancia, such as the chapel, the sacristy, the master bedroom, the living room and dining room of a traditional 19th-century house, and the cheese factory.
In each of these rooms, decorated with period-appropriate furniture to take you back in time, you can learn about the Jesuit history of the Calchaquí Valley, the way of life of the people who lived on the estancia, and their strong connection to cheese making. This is complemented by an engaging display of light and shadow, voices, music, animations, and a variety of sound and smell effects that deeply immerse visitors in the story.
Visiting hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
General admission: $3,000. Seniors and students: $1,500. Residents of Tafí del Valle: Free admission.
