Temples and sites of religious interest are great reasons to visit around the world and also in Tucumán. Be sure to explore this rich collection that extends to every corner of the province.

Religion is a big attraction when visiting cities and countries around the world with faith as the main driving force. Tucumán is not the exception and in each of its tourist circuits, you can find sites and temples of great religious, Historic and cultural value.

In the Historic City, there are must-see temples, among which we can mention the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Incarnation, one of the three oldest churches in Argentina; the Minor Basilica Nuestra Señora de la Merced, which houses great relics of the country's history; the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, also known as Santo Domingo Church; and the Church and Convent of San Francisco, which is currently under renovation.

In the Yungas Circuit, the Sacred Heart Church, a neo-Gothic chapel that stands out in the landscapes of Villa Nougués; the Cristo Rey Monastery, built by Benedictine monks in the tourist village El Siambón; and the Blessing Christ, the 28-meter figure created by the artist Juan Carlos Iramain that stands out on the top of San Javier Hill.

In the Choromoro Valley Circuit, the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes stands out.The Lourdes Grotto is located on a hill, which gives it a wonderful panoramic view of San Pedro de Colalao. The work inaugurated in 1982 was commissioned by the Lourdist Father Marcelo Artiguibille as soon as he arrived in the town and stands as an exact replica of the Grotto of France. The site also has an interpretative park where visitors can experience the apparitions of the Virgin to Bernadette during 1858. One of the largest congregation sites in the province is located in San Pedro de Colalao.

The Well of San Francisco Solano in Trancas, whose source has waters with healing properties that attract hundreds of faithful.

The Sacred Heart Church, a temple that witnessed the execution of the first governor of Tucumán, General Bernabé Aráoz.

In the Calchaquí Valley Circuit, the Chapel of the Virgin of Covadonga in El Mollar stands out, built between 1940 and 1950 with local materials; the La Banda Jesuit Museum, a room built by the Jesuits in 1718 and which currently has a renovated exhibition; and the San Ramón Nonato Church in Amaicha del Valle, colonial style and with cardón wood ceilings with carob tree braces that protect its only nave.

Finally, in the South Circuit, the Jesuit Ruins of San José de Lules stand out, testimony to the time of the Spanish conquest, made up of an old chapel and a convent founded by the Company of Jesus in 1670; the Immaculate Conception Parish that has an image carved in quebracho of more than one meter; the Our Lady of Mercy Church in Simoca, founded in 1859 and which is the oldest in eastern Tucumán; the Church of Medinas Village, located in one of the oldest towns in the interior of the province and which has an image of the Virgin of Mercy dating back to 1600; the Our Lady of the Rosary Parish Church in Monteros, whose origins date back to the times of the foundation of San Miguel de Tucumán in the Ibatín area; the Gallery of Veneration Theme Park in Famaillá; and the Jesuit Church of San Ignacio de Loyola in La Cocha, a true historic treasure.
