Provincial Folk Museum
All the cultural heritage of the province is protected in this chest located in the Tucumán microcenter.

The great singer Mercedes Sosa, an exponent of Tucumán in the world, has a special room within the museum.
Located in the heart of Tucuman's downtown, it is a house built around 1730 that is one of the oldest examples of northern architecture. Its collection is made up of samples of popular and folkloric crafts from Tucumán and other provinces in the region. In its exhibitions, you can find pieces made of wood and leather and ceramics made by indigenous people. It is also possible to see examples of the exquisite Creole silverware in religious and everyday items such as mates and jugs. The textile collection includes the typical “randas” of the city of Monteros, tapestries, rugs, blankets, and ponchos. On the other hand, the collection of musical instruments is made up of boxes, bass drums, quenas (a kind of flute), sikus (wind instrument), erkes (wind instrument), charangos (little guitars), guitars and harps, made with pre-Hispanic and Hispanic techniques. The museum has a special room dedicated to the Tucumán artist Mercedes Sosa, a reference for folk music in the world.
