Brief description:

This route is quiet and has a considerable gradient, ideal for cycle tourism. It is rural, without river crossings, but with striking landscapes. However, supply points are limited, so carry more than 2 liters of water, especially in summer. It is a route of moderate to high difficulty, with some areas without adequate signage.

Distinctive Features of the Trail:

The route crosses wide rural roads in good condition, but there is little road and tourist signage, especially at key intersections.

There is a lack of adequate rest points and shaded areas along the route.

There are few supply areas, and most of the route lacks drinking water, so carry enough water.

The route presents impressive natural landscapes but with few facilities for cyclists.

Best time to visit: All year round

Notes: On very hot days it is not advisable to do the tour without assistance due to the lack of shade and water along the way.

Recommended times: Between 8:00 and 18:00.


Condition of the access roads:

Access roads: Good condition. Consolidated rural road, suitable for mountain bikes.

Road signs: Sparse, especially at intersections and detours.

Tourist signs: Only in San Pedro de Colalao, and very limited.

Trash bins: Only at the beginning in San Pedro de Colalao.

Camping areas:

Camping La Higuera

San Pedro de Colalao and Choromoro.

Shelters: Not available on the route.

Supply Points: Just a few are available at the start and end points.

Drinking Fountains: Only river water is available at some points.

Rest Areas: Limited.

General Recommendations:

1- Due to the unevenness and lack of supply points, it is recommended to bring at least 2 liters of water per person, especially in summer.

2- Be aware that the route can be challenging due to the lack of signage and adequate rest points.

3- Taking a support vehicle is advisable in case of emergency or to refuel.

4- The route lacks shade in many sections, so it is recommended to take precautions against the heat.
