High-altitude Wine Route
High-altitude Wine Route

One of the must-see attractions during your visit to Tucumán is the High Altitude Wine Route, a circuit of wineries and vineyards along Routes 40 and 307. Here, you can taste our delicious wines made in harmony with Pachamama and explore a range of options, from local and artisanal producers to larger, more industrialized operations. Plus, the Tucumán High Altitude Wine Route gives you the chance to visit the first community-operated winery in Latin America and the third largest in the world.
Currently, 11 wineries offer various tourist services, including guided tours, accommodations, or gastronomy. Additionally, the Tucumán High Altitude Wine Route provides a great opportunity to combine other activities during your visit to the legendary Calchaquí Valley, such as exploring villages and archaeological sites, like Talapazo, the Sacred City of Quilmes, and the Condorhuasi Ruins.
Did you know that our valley is perfect for grape growing? This comes from its wide temperature range, cold winters, hot and dry summers, and high sun exposure almost all year. It's one of the top wine-producing areas in the world.
How can you recognize a Tucumán wine? Our wines are bold, with a rich aroma and color depth. They are high quality, highly concentrated, and have a good alcohol content.
