Trancas

A city of enormous historical significance for the province and the country, you can tour the Old Town of Trancas, where you can visit an important testament to the past: the Temple of the Sacred Heart, whose walls witnessed the execution of the first Governor of Tucumán, Bernabé Aráoz, and the baptism of the famous sculptor Lola Mora.
A few kilometers from Trancas, you can visit the Well of San Francisco Solano, a site with a special energy thanks to its fountain with miraculous and healing waters that commemorate the saint's visit to the site.
The region is famous for its cheeses and quesillos, so a visit to the dairy farms where they are produced is a must-do activity on your itinerary. Furthermore, Trancas is known as "Tierra Gaucha," which is why it hosts one of the most traditional festivals: the National and International Horse Festival, an interesting opportunity to enjoy in October. During this festival, you can see herd parades, horse taming, and a great musical lineup featuring nationally and internationally renowned artists.
