Colalao del Valle

Nestled in the Calchaquí Valley at kilometer 4.308 on National Route 40, is Colalao del Valle, known for its vineyards that form part of the Tucumán Wine Route. Wineries such as Tolombón, Rio de Arena, Chico Zossi, and Luna de Cuarzo are among those located along this route.
The calendar highlights the Fiesta del Antigal (the Old Ruins Festival), an old celebration linked to the native peoples of the area. During this event, there are exhibitions of artisans and tastings of traditional foods and drinks. Additionally, you can enjoy parades of horses and gauchos, as well as Creole skills activities. Every July, in Colalao, the Festival del Ponchi (Ponchi Festival) is celebrated, honoring a popular valley drink made with brandy, sugar, cinnamon, and beaten egg. This holiday features dances and tastings of local cuisine.
