A little over 80 kilometers south of the capital, Aguilares is known as the national Capital of Sugarcane and hosts this annual event every November. Meanwhile, each summer, the provincial capital becomes the hub of the Carnival, drawing hundreds of visitors to its corsodrome. On this 800-meter route, comparsas and dancers fill the city with color, music, and passion.

Aguilares also hosts the Tango International Festival, which features over 60 musicians and dancers coming from various parts of the country and the world to showcase their skills in this dance.

Regarding religious tourism, one major attraction is the Nuestra Señora del Carmen Parish, whose frescoes were inspired by the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. The festival is held every July to honor the Virgen del Carmen, aligning with the city's birthday celebration.

Another must-see attraction is Santa Ana Park, a striking natural retreat designed by the famous landscaper Carlos Thays, which is worth a trip to see its variety of tree species.
