Simoca
Simoca

Its original name, Quechua, means “place of peace and silence.” However, this city, located 50 miles from the Tucumán capital along National Route 157, is known for the lively activity of its Saturday Fair. There, you can find a wide variety of products, including delicious regional dishes, crafts, cane honey, empanadillas, rosquetes, and even cigarettes sold in shacks.
Additionally, Simoca is a city rich in festivals. Every Saturday in July, the city hosts the National Fair Festival, featuring its traditional fair, along with parades of gauchos and folk shows. In November, it also hosts the National Sulky Festival, celebrating this legendary mode of transportation that sets it apart in the province and the country.
Visiting Simoca also invites you to check out its main square near the La Merced Church and enjoy a traditional Sulky ride through the city streets.
