How do I get to Tucumán? 

- If you are coming by air, you will arrive at the Teniente Benjamín Matienzo International Airport, a point of connection for flights to and from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque and Ezeiza), Córdoba, Puerto Iguazú, Bariloche, and Salta.

- If you are coming by land from Buenos Aires, the main access route to Tucumán is National Route N° 157, which comes from the southeast through the provinces of Córdoba and Santiago del Estero. If you are coming from Buenos Aires, you have another option: travel through Rosario on National Route N° 9 (Panamericana branch Escobar), take National Route N° 34 to Santiago del Estero, and then continue on National Route N° 9 until you reach San Miguel de Tucumán.

- From the north, the entrance route to Tucumán is National Route N° 9, while from the south access is through National Route N° 38.

- Another alternative to reach the province from Capital Federal is by train. The train arrives in Tucumán with stops in Rosario and La Banda (Santiago del Estero).

- Different long-distance bus companies from all over the country arrive at San Miguel de Tucumán Central Station.


How do I get to downtown San Miguel de Tucumán from the airport? 

The most practical way to get downtown from the airport is by taking a taxi or renting a vehicle at the airport terminal. There is also an Aerotransfer system that offers transfers to Plaza Independencia in San Miguel de Tucumán which can be hired at their stand at the airport.


How do I pay for urban and interurban buses in Tucuman?

Currently, two electronic payment systems are used in the province for public transportation. The Sube card is used exclusively in San Miguel de Tucumán (on lines 1 through 19). The Independencia or Metropolitana cards are used for transportation on intercity and rural lines. The current cost of an urban bus fare starts at ARS 690 depending on distances between different points.

Another option is to visit the attractions on buses that leave from the San Miguel de Tucumán Bus Terminal. 

Finally, if you want to do the tour accompanied by a tour guide, consult the Incoming Tourism Agencies that operate in the province.


What are the must-see places in Tucumán?

What should I know when driving a vehicle in Tucumán?

Frequently, in the province, alcohol tests are carried out in different points of the city of San Miguel de Tucumán and other cities. Currently, the blood alcohol level must be 0 (zero) for the person who drives the vehicle.

Vehicle technical verification (VTV) is also a mandatory requirement to travel through Tucumán. This consists of the periodic control of the mechanical condition of the vehicles. If this control is not done, the driver may be fined and his license withheld.


Where can I change money?

You can change your money in the banking area located in the downtown area of San Miguel de Tucumán. Most of the exchange centers are located at 700 San Martín Street.


What are the business hours of the province?

In San Miguel de Tucumán, business hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Shopping malls, for their part, open regularly from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.


Where can I eat regional dishes in Tucumán?
